Tapmaster- main or prep

For those who used tapmaster, did you do it on your main or prep sink? I'm thinking main but always better to ask the experts!

Also did anyone find an auto-soap dispenser to go with it?

So, GW edited my last post and left off my inset trash pedal questions. Odd.

Anyway, I am getting inset cabinets and need two trash cans. Are there any hands free options? I heard servo-electric thing leaves only room for one and the drawer kicker Im not sure strong enough or even installable with insets. Any inset owners with a solution??

If you add to a message, or edit it, on the preview screen, you have to re-preview before hitting submit or the new stuff goes away.

I have mine on my prep sink only. On my main sink I'm always fiddling with the temperature and flow so I didn't get it. Turns out I was right and rarely miss it.

Sometimes I even turn it off on my prep sink because I'm doing a lot of changes and it's easier to use the mixer lever then.

There's a foot pedal thing that uses bungee cords, and a hip bump thing that's like an oversized pressure latch (think clicky ballpoint pen), with a spring. I think there was a thread about making a pedal work with insets, which someone is sure to have saved. The hip bump one should work no problem, and is only a few inches. Do make sure about the servo as well. There might be a way to make it work in an area where the cans are tapered so that it can fit in with two. It might take some invention and modification, but it might very well work.

We have it on both. My DH didn't think he would like it but now loves it. The kids love it too. My DD shows her friends the 1st time their in the kitchen. They're all using it. It didn't take long to get use to it. If you were only going to get one than I think the prep sink.

Ok, definately called that wrong. Would have thought main sink! Did everyone buy these direct from tapmaster or elsewhere?

I got mine directly from Tapmaster. They're very nice! And they have models that aren't on the web if you call them. Mine is a single unit that has two controllers for the one sink, one on the front and one on the side of the island. It's very cool!

Plllog- why do you need two controllers? is this for if you come at the prep sink at different angles?

    Yes, exactly.

My sink is keyhole shaped. The narrow part is a trough toward the front of the island, and the circle is a deeper bowl toward the back. The sink sits on the right hand edge.

Both controllers are on midlines to the drain. One controller is about where the edge of the mat is in the picture, and the other is in front of the bowl, on the side with no drawers. Behind the prep area (drawer side) is the stove, whereas directly behind the side area is the ovens and baking area. The trough is great for staged cleaning as below, but when I'm just washing a bunch of cherries or something, I throw them in the colander and wash them in the bowl from the side of the island. Additionally, the faucet is right there for wetting or rinsing hands during baking just opposite. I didn't even know they made the double controller unit. I called to find out if it could work (figuring plumber input), and they said they had one ready to go. It's great having handsfree operation from both sides, even though it's a small island and not hard to walk around.

I've bought mine directly from Tapmaster. Like plllog said - they're really nice. I couldn't decide which version (tap with foot or euro - lever) and discussed the pros and cons with them. The woman on the phone has both versions. She said the euro took a little longer getting use to because she already had the other type. I think the Euro lever is less noticeable. It took our family about 2 days to adjust. My 9 yr old DH friends' figure it out after the 2nd try - they all use it. To them we're the one with the cool kitchen.
