CL ad for Engagement Ring: "Worn by Satan Herself"

I know you will enjoy this. I sure did. And in case it gets deleted, here is the text, but you can also follow the link if you want to see it....

For sale I have a 1.5ct total weight engagement ring set in 14K white gold. The ring is in like new condition, only worn for a short period of time by Satan herself. Comes with the original box. Very pretty ring with a lower setting so the diamonds won't snag on everything. Diamonds along the sides and in the channel setting show off light from all sides. Originally purchased from Littman's for a sum of money far greater than I am comfortable admitting.

Warning: ring may be cursed as it tends to leave a path of destruction behind it. Possible events associated with this ring include but are not limited to: damage sustained to house, vehicle, heart, downed powerlines, fallen trees, and swarms of locus. I would highly recommend taking action to counter the whirlwind of bad mojo that surround this piece of jewelry. Should consider having curse removed by voodoo priest or something before presenting to loved one. Other than that a very nice piece of jewelry.

Looking to sell this soon before it brings any more bad luck into my life and I'd rather have cash. If not sold by Christmas I plan to throw it into the fires of Mordor.

Oops, just looked at the ring and it is awful. Maybe he cooked up that ad so he could sell it.

.....reminds me of Tolkien's Ring ....it inevitably corrupted whomever wore it.

That's pretty funny. And pretty well written for CL.

I actually like the ring, but unfortunately any ring money I have is going into my "Satan" of a kitchen.

Reminded me of an ad in our local paper for a tag sale which went something like this...

"Got rid of the husband. Now I gotta get rid of his crap".

Laughed for a long time about that one. Sounds like ring guy is smart enough not to pine too long!

Very creative! That guy has a sense of humor!

    I found it amusing.

I like that he still has a sense of humor! And I'm surprised that he actually got the ring back from her. The ring looks more like a scaled-down cocktail ring than a wear-everyday engagement ring, tho. I guess she wanted what she wanted!

    Bless his heart. That's funny.

That is hilarious! Must have been somewhat cathartic for him. I wonder if the fiance or whatever she was read it! haha

Reminds me of the old Zsazsa Gabor line who had been married upmteen times. Someone said she was breaking her engagement and wanted to know if she needed to return the ring. Zsazsa replied, "By all means, dahlink. Return the ring, but keep the stone!"

Glad he got the ring back. My nephew paid an arm and a leg for a ring and she called things off 3 weeks before the wedding. Never got it back, which I always thought was the way it was done.

    Thanks for sharing.

That is just so funny....fires of Mordor-hilarious! Hope he can sell it and find someone who appreciates his wit and way with words.

Too funny. A little revenge, a little catharsis. He should have include a free exorcism. Thanks for sharing.

According to judge Judy, if the engagement is broken, the ring goes back as it was given specifically in anticipation of marriage.

Usually depends on who breaks the engagement (at least according to old-time-my era ha-etiquette). If she breaks it, the ring goes back; if he breaks it, she gets to keep the ring.

Still think this is very funny no matter what!

Terrible photographer. I am seeing more box than ring. Needed a magnifying glass to see it.

    Love the write-up!

I needed this laugh tonight. Thank You!

    Bizarre.

Ha, very funny! I thought that if the engagement is broken off before marriage, he gets the ring back (assuming he paid for it). Divorce (obviosuly, after marriage), she keeps the ring. This vast knowledge is from watching Judge Judy years ago :-)

We learned in law school to always get the ring on Christmas or on your birthday. If it is given on those dates, it is considered a gift and you get to keep it. If it is given any other time, it is a conditional gift and you only get to keep it if you fulfill the condition (wedding goes through). In divorce, woman keeps the ring b/c she fulfilled the condition.

This is one of the funniest things I've read recently. Nice to see this guy has a sense of humor.
