There is currently purple, gold, turquoise, and magenta on her bed, but because it's got a Moroccan feel, I think other colors could be added into the room, so walls could be anything. Ideas?

Before reading the last comment I thought of turquoise also! A nice warm orange would look great also. Purple and orange are complementary colours so they go great together! The carpet looks magenta...if so, that also goes well with orange. Have fun and good luck!

The Moroccan feel is very neat and sophisticated for a teen. We like it! An accent wall with this Tempaper Marrakesh Merlot Peel and Stick Wallpaper (Target online only) would be ideal. Leaving the rest of the room in the being may even be possible after putting up that paper!

I think I would paint the wall behind the bed the same color as the carpet and then add beige stenciling and leave the room the same beige, as it works with the circles in the comforter. It may just be enough of a change for her. I would move the small chest to the other side of the window and look for a second hand chair for that corner, that you could reupholster with deep purple fabric.[houzz=]

Great ideas and thank you! Would all of these suggestions still look ok if her carpet becomes a neutral off white (yuck but we are moving and this is just an area carpet)? Or, should I put this area carpet on top of the existing carpet (the neutral off white) when we move into the house? She has mentioned an emerald green wall color, but I just can't find an emerald green for a wall color that wouldn't overwhelm the room. Thoughts? Thanks! I love all the ideas!

Emerald green is gorgeous! Perhaps an accent wall so it doesn't overwhelm? I do prefer the Orange though :) it's warm and inviting !

If she likes emerald green, it could look very nice, but I would only do the one wall behind the bed and also suggest adding emerald elsewhere in the room.

You should do a light orange

Either orange or green would look fabulous with purple.

I think a shade of gold would set off her colors really well.

Removable, reusable wallpaper behind the bed. Later it can be tucked into the backs of shelves, into a niche, anywhere else you might want to use it once she moves out or tires of it.

The room is already very pretty, but if your daughter is looking for a change I think soft bluish-purple walls would look good with the carpet and bedspread. Her accent things could then be a variety of bright colours - shocking pink, emerald, turquois, orange, periwinkle............. jewel tones.

The off-white carpet in her new room will really change the look. Your idea of placing the area rug over the off-white seems like it would be the solution, but it would be bad if the colour of the area rug somehow bled onto the off-white (can this happen?) .......Maybe some sort of barrier between the two would work (or maybe this would just be too many layers)

Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will look fabulous. What you have done so far is really appealing.

I think a rich gold or a bright rich green would look great. You may want to also consider changing out the ceiling fan, It is just throwing the feel off for me. Good luck.

Is there another color you could pick out of the bedding, like the pale gold?

I tried a few things and the room seems to respond best with deep jewel tone walls. My personal preference is the deep blue. I can see doing the walls in the blue and the ceiling in the orange.
