I prefer the look of a honed surface. Honed quartzite and marble have a lush look and feel, not at all dull.

I'm with linelle. Honed finishes to me are beautiful and striking.

I just put down a deposit today on a slab of "Sueded" Sea Pearl Quartzite that is essentially honed with a very subtle texture. I have a soapstone island and ruled out the polished quartzite because I prefer the honed look & didn't want to mix the polished with the matte.

I fell in love with the sueded/honed quartzite...very calm, like the sky or water, yet interesting due to the movement. I'll probably bring in a little shiny "bling" with my faucet.

I wish I would have done honed too. you also won't get reflection from light off the counters which bugs me a little with a polished madre perla. But I love this stone. bullet proof.

We recently purchased Taj Mahal satin. It looks like yours...maybe the same? Love the texture...I keep going back to the warehouse just to pet it! Can't wait to see it installed.

Out of curiosity for my future-- any maintenance issues with the honed quartzite?

Just installed the exact stone this week and LOVE it! The light doesn't reflect off of it like polished but allows you to see all the texture from different angles. DH didn't like it in the warehouse but agrees it's special now that he sees it installed. You won't have any regrets!

I chose a polished backsplash to get some shine into the kitchen. We are doing White cabinets. I'll post a picture when finished. I also love your pictured slabs of quartzite.
