Kitchen flooring advice

Redoing a very dated kitchen and really want dark stained hardwood floors(def not tile) but the rest of house is newly stained golden oak. Would it look terrible to have the kitchen a different color stain? Any suggestions? Attached a photo of dining to kitchen(other entrance is a tiled mushroom so less of an issue) all thoughts and suggestions please!!

HI -- I know it's better to have most of the floors the same . When we had our house inspected for value for a new mortgage , we lost value points for having too many different floorings .

Having the kitchen the same wood as in the other rooms marry the house together. No picture of your kitchen so don't know size etc. Usually your cabinetry , counter tops and back spash are the decorative elements in the kitchen, not the floor.
