I think the wall colors are wrong for the furniture. I suggest a more neutral colors. The colors in my office are SW pediment(?) and library pewter.

The room is probably too small for the tall book case. I suggest buying or building a waist-high bookshelf/credenza.

FYI: I putting all of the framed stuff in the top area.

If you love the look of the desk in the middle of the room but feel like there isn't enough space, I would suggest using your wall to store things. If you did a wall of floating shelves behind your desk then you can easily keep things off the floor. Here is an example: Office 1 of course not doing ledge shelves but doing deeper shelving. You could even possibly create custom built-ins. Here is an example: Office 2. That also depends on your budget. The bookcase you have right now is great but it isn't enough storage. Here are a couple other examples, office 3 and office 4. I would also suggest painting the room a lighter color and floor to ceiling drapes. It will make the ceiling look bigger thus making the room look bigger.
