Try taking the photo when the front is not in the shade.

thanks for the comments here is a requested new picture without shade.

my thoughts are to remove the grass and the shrubs under the bow window.

I would remove the shrubs and plant a tree or pretty flowering shrub.

I think replanting throughout is called for, as all the shrubs are too close to the house, and oversized. It also appears that you might benefit from eliminating the lawn altogether - a consult with the landscape designer at your local nursery can fix this with a low water design that will save money and guesswork. Take these photos to show the burnt areas, and an outline with accurate measurements to your appt. Best of luck.

I for sure want the lawn gone--Thank you for your thoughts..I will do that..

I had a similar struggle with my front yard. Have you thought of adding window boxes underneath the bay window?

Looks like the walkway to the front door is raised? I think enlarging the front door stoop to make a small patio or porch would be nice. Something for a couple of chairs. Adding a pergola over the bay to the entrance would be my choice. Hard to see the foundation due to the plants.
