Lighting is super important. Your proposed look could be very elegant with a counterbalance of some light sand colored tile in the backsplash; and appropriate lighting. I would consider a light textured glass tile in a 3 x 6 subway style. Have under cabinet lighting; some pretty pendants or such that would go with your décor; and of course some good general lighting. Hard to say with no pictures.

Great! the pictures help a lot! And you most definitely have enough natural light and ceiling cans.

I see where you want to go with your dinette set but I'm not sure the dark floor would work. Your kitchen cabinets are a cinnamon stained oak. And your other flooring is natural maple laminate-and you want a dark wood tone--too many different colors/tones of wood. Would you consider changing the cabinets or having them refaced?

What about continuing the natural maple flooring into your kitchen; then changing the cabinets to that dark color you like; changing your appliances to stainless; change your light fixture over the dinette; and then making your counter dark or a combo of darks and blondes.

You would then have a classy, timeless decor.

Alternatively, you could make the floor dark and change the cabinets to natural maple with the dark tops. Consider how long you will be in this house and how trendy you want to make it. Trends change.

My bed is of amber color. Can anyone please help me which colour shall I paint in my bedroom? That will suit best with amber color.
