Offhand I'd say it's damage that occurred right before you bought it, and is now browning up and scarring over. Plant looks ok-ish otherwise. Make sure it gets bright light and water sparingly over the winter.

I have quite a few of these. If any of the leaves fall off, just take the leaf, and where the bottom is, take that and lay the leaf on top of soil. They root that way, and of course, my amount of plants have increased from one to about 30. When rooting, do not keep the soil too wet, as they will rot then. I do this in my greenhouse in winter, and outside in summer, have never tried it inside the house.

I can't see stem damage - maybe you can take close-up photo? It could be just 'scars' left after the flowering stem or leave falling off?

The cuts appear to be mechanical damage - maybe something chewed on the leaves. It could have happened before your purchase (as hoovb already pointed out), it would be not so visible if the chewing was on tighter rosette (center of the plant) that has grown since & now you can see it. It will not change/improve, but it doesn't mean your plant will die.

Just make sure it is not overwatered, that pot has drainage hole, and give it good light.
