how fast does the tree grow ?

the are about 2 to 3 ft tall

I've found that when they're small they grow quite fast. Then when they get a bit tall they seem to slow down on the height gain and put on more bulk, bascally move more 'sideways'. But they do like a lot of water.

Finally had to pick the Jackfruit. During the day the Sulphur-crested White Cockatoos were getting stuck into them, and at night it was the Flying Foxes. Fortunately they tended to demolish one fruit at a time rather than damage the whole lot. Getting the fruit out of the tree was a tricky job, due to size and weight. Ended tying a long rope onto the fruit and fastening the other end to the tree trunk. Then cut the fruit off. After that I was able to lower the fruit down into a wheelbarrow. The fruit weighed 15 kg. Not completely ripe but it was either get it now or have it eaten away by the animals. The rest of the fruit will go to the animals anyway

Keiki, there is a "WOW!!" reaction when you're up in the tree standing beside this monstrocity and start to wonder "How the hell am I going to get this thing down from here in one piece and survive the operation myself?" But, gardeners are resourceful if nothing else, LOL.
