Detergents Now That Persil is Gone

What detergents do you all like now that Persil is gone from US due to phosphates? Miele detergent is phosphate free but is way too pricey. Thank you in advance.

persil is on amazon for sale. I just looked. I like tide with bleach (powder) Sears laundry detergent seem to be good too.VERY low sudsing which I like. Cleans my work cloths just as good as regular tide and a lot cheaper too

I'm pretty sure that German Persil has been phosphate free for a while and as pointed out above is still available on both Amazon and persilstore.com.

When you compare the prices, Miele costs about the same as Persil. Right now Persil Universal Megaperls is $39.99 for 48 loads on Amazon and MieleCare UltraWhite is $39.95 for 48 loads, both with free shipping: MieleCare UltraWhite on Amazon vs Persil Universal on Amazon. The color version seems to be out of stock in that size, but for 48 loads the price was comparable as well.

I haven't tried the Miele UltraWhite just yet, but really enjoy the UltraColor. I actually prefer it to Persil! I feel that it leaves clothes softer and the scent is lighter and more to my taste.

For whites there's also Tide with Bleach Alternative that comes in HE, however they just changed the "Original" scent to one of those super sweet P&G ones. :(

sounds like my local vacuum store guy is full of phosphate! thank you!

Phosphates have been removed from German detergents since the 80s - it's our dishwasher detergents that still have them (usually over 30%).

Happy to help! I think that could have been an honest mistake - maybe he was thinking about dishwashers when you asked? :)

While the reason given to OP is untrue it does seem as if Miele has stopped importing Persil into the USA...the local store I used to buy from told me that as did a couple other places I called.

malba that's exactly what happened. it's the local yocal miele vacuum guy no longer stocking Persil laundry. he said US banned it because of phosphates but Henkel website says no phosphates for like the last 30 yrs. sometimes "shopping local" isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Tommylicious...I don't think the local guy decided to stop selling it, I think Miele stopped importing it. I have been looking for the color megaperls for a while and it looks like its out of stock pretty much everywhere. A couple shops I called told me that Miele stopped importing it to the US. Hopefully now Henckel will directly import it and sell it at more reasonable prices.

The Persil store says that they expect new shipments by late February.
