What a nice gesture!

I've recently finished a baby quilt, and hopefully will get pajama bottoms done for the kids before Christmas Eve. But that's it.

Over the years, I've eliminated all the stress by not doing anything for anyone. It's made the season so much more enjoyable overall.

Me-me-me! Glutton for punishment & stress!
I have the corners on 2 large quilts to tack down....then wash, dry and wrap. I'll be holding my breath that one of these does not bleed & the label I printed on the photo paper washes nicely.
I am also waiting for a baby to be born to finish the binding & label on a baby quilt. If he doesn't pop out soon, I'll add the label later. All three of these quilts are going to be huge surprises for the recipients.

I am with Jen...I used to make gifts for everyone - extended family, co-workers, friends - then I realized I was spending 6 months a year making Christmas gifts! :O The "kids" in DH's family draw names (3 couples and one adult niece) so I often make something for that one person, but in general we don't do any gifting any more. Everyone has so much stuff. Even DH & I don't exchange gifts. We usually get something we both need or want.

Not much Christmas sewing here either. Hadn't planned on doing any and then made a fabric box and they were so easy and fun made 3 more and decided to give them with a bag of Muddy Buddies to the grandgirls. lol

No Christmas quilting for me this year either. I did have a wedding quilt to do for my niece's 1-3-15 wedding. That's finished and wrapped. It's the cookies that kept me busy, but I finished yesterday. I make about 100 each of nine recipes. I packaged up five boxes to mail and will take them to the post office tomorrow morning. Now I just need gifts for my two grandkids.

I started with our church bazaar and it as ballooned from there. I have one more left to do. I have made 40 kids aprons, 7 adult aprons, 3 baby/mom aprons, baby blankets and burb cloths. My final thng is a tutu for a 4 year old.

The quilted Christmas card is darling!!! I've made five (yes FIVE!!) baby/crib quilts this fall but only one hand-made Christmas gift...it's the patchy scotty dog that will reach its destination in Illinois tomorrow. I'm still sewing 'Christmas' but these table toppers are for two of my sisters and will be given to them next time I see them as un-Christmas gifts. Maybe I'll be able to get the last lotto block of 2014 done, too - am hoping..fabric is washed and ready but don't know if time will allow. I love sewing with Christmas fabrics ...makes the house completely 'decorated'!! *smile*

I'm glad some of you are also doing Christmas sewing, too! If we do it out of obligation and the gift won't be appreciated, it's not quite as much fun, so limiting it is probably a good idea! Wow, Marsha, you really are a glutton for punishment, huh?

Donna, my family does the name drawing thing too.... I'm not participating, though... we're doing Christmas on Saturday and with me working two jobs and trying to get this card finished, it will be all I can do to bring food to contribute to the pot luck.... I will probably have to skip sleep on Friday to cook... besides, I just got a newer car with a payment, so I definitely don't need to be wasting money on presents... definitely no more sewing machines in my near future!

I don't really decorate for Christmas, so this is about as festive as I get. I get so many Christmas cards where people just buy something at the store and simply write their name in them... if someone knows me well enough to send me a Christmas card, we can safely assume that I already know how to spell their name... I think it should be at least a little more personal than that! Doing that, to me, is like making a cake from a mix instead of from scratch... it's OK if it works for other people, but I can't do it!

I really worked hard to do the blanket stitch perfectly on this and I am enjoying using my machine's decorative stitches as well... Of course I need a lot more practice with free motion writing, but the goofs will just add to the "rustic charm" of this thing... the back is going to be made of pieced Christmas fabrics, and all I have left to do after that is assemble and quilt... based on her reaction to things I've already made for her, I'm expecting this to knock her socks off.... she either has low standards or is really polite :o)
