If you can, wipe it down detergent and water. Then put somewhere to air out. If it's fresh paint give, it a few days to cure.

If giving it time to dry and cure fails, here's a possible solution:

Shellac is a great scent blocker and it sticks to most finishes. The downside is that it will add some yellow tint to your painted surface similar to what would happen if polyurethane were put on the paint. An acquaintance of mine used it on some shelves that had been subjected to a gasoline spill and he reported instant success.

If you really want to try it out, I recommend getting Zinsser's SealCoat. It's a de-waxed shellac that is fairly light in color for a shellac and according to Zinsser, it won't darken as it ages.

Walter's right ,a clear shellac should block the order .
