Need help with long living room furniture placement

I have a very long living room with a fireplace on front short wall and sliders to patio on back short wall. This room connects to kitchen area. Tv is mounted above fireplace and looking for the best placement for furniture and function. We love kind of a contempory look with a little eclectic flare and plan to add new furniture soon and new darker "tigerwood" flooring is going in. Thanks :)

This is one of my favorite layouts for your room. Lots of curves which, I think, soften up that rectangle. The curved sofa allows you to keep it against the wall, but gives more of an impressions that is not so "dance hall". The two chairs give access into the dining room and the fireplace bench get furniture out of the corner.

Pull the furniture off the walls. Flank the fire place with a chair on each side. Put a sofa table befind the sofa where the traffic pattern is. Get a large area rug to anchor the room.

On the long wall where couch is, there is a doorway to the hallway that separates the room

We have a similar "problem" room - lots of doors/entries and a fireplace. I just bought a tailored apartment size sofa and 2 slipper chairs and plan to arrange as suggested.

Float seating furniture and coffee table in the center on a big area rug. Use perimeter walls for some wood casegoods. Paint or replace all light casegoods with something to complement the dark sofas. Then add some bling with a drum chandy over the coffee table in place of your fan/light..

Completely agree with Interiors International! Pull your furntiure off the walls. By pulling the furniture off the all the walls, you will still be able to keep the symetry and have your space centered off the fireplace. If your space is feeling too narrow to pull off all walls, then add a quick drawing to we can work with a specific layout for you!

Decoenthusiate, is it okay that that will partially block the walkway to the open hallway? I love the design ideas and position things that way and take pics. Thanks for all the ideas :)

How often is the guest hallway used? Position your furniture and see how it feels visually. You do not want to block any hallway, but partially might work out. If the furniture piece is on an angle, it might not be as intrusive as you are thinking.

We use that hallway everyday but I know it's needs furniture by the fireplace. I will try it and post. Thank you for your help
