Decorating and paint choice help

I will be painting my kitchen and need some advice on some nice neutral colors. Right now it is a martha stewart color twine. I will be taking down the border and I do have alot of wood cabintry. Not sure what colors would look good with all that wood. It is a galley kitchen and would like some decorating advice as well. Thanks!

s, yes, yes. Was thinking the same kind of medium/darker blue, also perhaps BM Lucerne. Love that color in my house.

It looks slightly teal in real life.

Yay for taking down the border! That will be a great change. What color are your counters? They look gray/blue? I'm assuming this is a nighttime pic. How much light does the kitchen get in the day?

Are you set on a neutral color? Because I'm thinking a more saturated color, like a gold or a terra cotta might look really nice.

The counter color is called bronze fusion. It is mostly black, gray, with some brown. The room does get a fair amount of light in the day. I have a window over the kitchen sink and a large sliding door in front of the table. My dining room off the kitchen is a neutral sw beach house and my family room which is off the eating area is sw grassland.

Oh yes, Lucerne Blue is also beautiful. Agree with above, that a saturated color is what that kitchen needs.

I would continue the dining room color into the kitchen.

The last 2 pictures shows the table and chairs in the kitchen. Any suggestions on rugs? Colors ? Shapes? I would like to change the wall décor as well. Any ideas ? Thanks!

I agree with a nice neutral color. It's a small closed in space and I think a lighter color will open it up more. You could then add touches of color with your accessories. If I were to use a color on the walls, it would probably be a very light, soft green.

Just to be clear, do you plan on painting the eating area or just the soffit and dining room entryway? If you're painting the eating area, I would want a color that works with the dominant color in your living room. I wouldn't want to go from one saturated color to another unrelated saturated color. Have you looked at Ancient Marble on the same strip as Grassland? I remember being interested in that color to repaint my LR/DR in a light olive tone. It's a good color with wood.

You might want to think about adding some color, texture, and/or pattern to your window treatment. I wouldn't even bother with a rug.

Everything in your room will change, including the color of the cabinets and walls if you begin by changing the light fixture and the color of the light bulbs. After that is completed, then decide on a paint color.
