Would you have a use for it or would it be because it seems trendy? I think if you'd use it and it would benefit you in some way, you should go for it. You can also paint in just a large chalkboard area and hang a chunky frame around it if you didn't want an entire wall.

I don't think I would do a whole wall, as it woud make the room very dark. What about hanging a panel - would be modern, a balance and keep the room on the ligher side. Also easy to take down when you tire of it and move to a kid's room, basement or kitchen.

lizzie91001: As for the chalk dust troubles, I solved this with help of speical chalk markers. I use them on a vintage chalkboard globe I've made and they rock! You should be able to get those in any big stationary shop or online.
