Furniture Arrangement Help Needed

There's my new great room from overhead. You can't see it, but behind the couch in the left of the picture is another large opening into the foyer and dining room.

We're pretty happy with the bigger couch where it is. The issue I'm having is with the small chair. It faces the room for conversation but is not a useful chair to us since it doesn't face the TV (above the fireplace) so we'll never sit in in this way.

One thought I had was moving the couch on the left of the photo (two seater loveseat) over on the opposite side. However I was worried about blocking the view and being sort of a traffic stop at the sliding door in the center there going out to the deck. But moving it would then allow me to angle the small chair in that area instead, and have all 3 seats facing the fireplace/front of the room.

Any comments/thoughts on moving that loveseat to the opposite/door side? Am I stuck?

We have a similar problem, our living room has too many openings making furniture placement tricky. Have you tried moving all the seating closer together? This way they won't block flow of house. Another thing I did for our living room is to see which opening gets the most use, and try to leave that open.

I was thinking you could angle the couches forming almost a "v' facing the fireplace with the chair at the back of the "v" so that the chair faces the TV straight on, and the couches angle. Don't know how that would work but it would clear the openings to other rooms.

Thanks for the comments -- The angled idea wasn't one I ever considered but I may see about making that change just to see if we like it. In the meantime, we did go ahead and move things closer together. The rooms flow in and out reasonably well, though we may put a standing table behind the couch in the back of the room. My biggest concern was that the smaller chair could not be used for lounging and watching television or the fireplace, but that may be unavoidable.

Why not move the chair opposite the sofa, perpendicular to the love seat. At least you could watch TV from the chair. I think if you put the sofa where the love seat is it would block the room flow and you put it near the slider same problem

You mean have the chair near the sliding doors maybe? I did think of that. At least it would be the smallest obstacle there where there is a through-way.
