I too LOVE LOVE the wall idea....I too am starting a renovation on my basement and wanting to do something like this. Did you plaster over drywall or concrete block????

Hi twistedsi33. The wall was stick framed and we put wire mesh over treated paper backing. As the wire mesh is thick, rough coat plaster adhered to it pretty well. The biggest problem I foresee with a basement wall is the moisture. Your local masonry shop is a good place to start on advice on what will adhere best to your walls.

How do you inlay wood into concrete? i'm not sure of the process?

@M.Soto- The wood is 2x4's tapered to level out a sloping covered patio. We were then able to pour a new floor and level it to the new foundation for the sunroom. Once the lattice was in place we poured concrete with the tint mixed in.

Can you please tell me what color was applied over plaster to get this look ? Thanks

@ Irena- no color. We just used the scratch coat (the initial coat over the wire mesh) w/o putting the 2nd finish coat on. Then used sealer over the scratch coat. 16 years later still looks great, although has some cracks.

Is this limewash? I have textured walls that have been painted and repainted over the years and am wondering if limewash would be a way to embrace the texture.
