how to attach trim

I bought a house, the previous owners did not finish the trim after they backsplash there is a gap see pictures, tried to caulk did not work, so I bought some quarter round trim both tops is 40 inches of trim and the sides are 14 inches. I tried to put the wood trim up with liquid nails did not work so what do I use. As you can see the previous folks put the outlet cover on crook. The backsplash was an awful peach so I scrubbed the tile and put 3 coats of high gloss white. Now to fix this gap I can see when sitting at the table. Thanks!

theres two ways to tackle this. the first is with 1 inch brad nails shot up into bottom of cabinets. second is with grout . the tile should have been a little tighter but you can still grout the gap. use a white grout. while youmare at it scrape the flaking paint under the cabinets and give it a fresh coat.

You could paint that space white or add some cut tiles to it ,or trim that 1/4 round to fit , but I would paint it first . Or get something like in the photo that will fit .

Thanks, I have tried to paint to much of a gap, I tried to caulk it again to much of a gap. I have wood trim that is 1/4 round and I mitered the corners but I don't know how to attach.

You probably need a nail gun to attach it to the wall ,I don't think that glue alone will hold it into place alone.

You have spent an enormous amount of time snd energy trying to fix some idiots crappy DIY and still it's not right. You gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em. Tear it out snd replace with glass subway tile done right.

I know the whole house built in the 50's the previous owners did such a crap job reno's it undoing all their mistakes that is costing me money beyond frustrating but I do love my little house.

Caulking can also be done to fill the gap.
