What to do with this kitchen?

Hi, we are trying to update kitchen cabinets and paint here to make modern. I love white cabinets! But the style of these cabinets seem maybe country-style, so not sure how to best modernize the space.

Would you pain these cabinets white, replace cabinets entirely or just the doors?

Would you leave the back splash as is or change somehow?

What color would you paint the walls? The soace has gorgeous high ceilings with beams that all blend together now. We are planning to update the floors to bamboo to match what is in the rest of the house...

    these cabinets are cute, but not modern at all. They look very new, and you might be able to sell them. Then put in an Ikea kitchen.
