I have had the same problem with my iPad pics lately.
I think the wall will work with white cabinets if go that direction. It looks like you get a lot of natural so you could darken the cabinets to match the dining set. There companies that will enhance or refresh wood work with a poly with wood stain. You can DIY it with those Minwax poly shades. Much easier than painting. With darker wood you would want to keep the paint and countertop light.
New hardware would be an easy update. Your cabinets have a fairly classic style which could work with many styles. Add sleek modern pulls in brushed nickel for modern style or antique looking copper or glass knobs for a more cottage look. Think of it as jewelry for your kitchen. The white knobs you have will work well with white painted cabinets if you do that.
If you know what color you want on your walls try it with the old cabinets and see if that a knob change will give enough of an update. I still would like mine white but removing wallpaper and painting made my oak cabinets livable.
You could replace some of the wood panel in the doors for glass if you like that look. Your doors look too good to replace which can be pricy but cheaper than new cabinets. I would put that money toward hardware or countertops whether you paint cabinets or not.

the blue walls are definitely going to be gone and the cabinets will probably be white. I know I will change out the knobs too but I was thinking maybe a black countertop. (hate the bluish gray that's there now.) so anyway I am thinking wood floors that will match the woodwork and white cabs and new hardware and countertops. those things are a given but I still may change out those doors. yuck
