Help me add soft color

I am doing a low budget kitchen/family room remodel. I recently painted my cabinets from alder to cream white. I now am concerned that with all my white board and batten I need to add a pop of soft color. The lighting is difficult this time of day but here are some pics of the blue and white and chocolate. I am really wanting to de-emphasize the chocolate and am considering painting the chocolate a taupe gray instead. Can I? I would

love a pop of yellow, green, pink, or all of those. I'm considering changing my window coverings so I took pics of my room with and without the coverings. What coverings would you do on the main and door windows? I am looking for a more substantial piece for my TV but haven't found one yet. Any thoughts?

If you paint the walls all the neutral colour you have already and add a light neutral backsplash instead of the blue paint you would have a strong base for you kitchen and the space will have a calm feeling. Then you can go about accessorizing with a beautiful fresh spring green to pull the room together. This way you can change the accessories easily if you want to change the colours over time. You could even paint your bar stools the green accent colour. Your one open shelf in the kitchen can be a great spot to put a beautiful vignette that showcases your accent colour.

@alinasmith842 and anyone, here are pics of the other side. They aren't good pics bc it was early morning. One with curtains and one without. What do you think if I change out the chocolate curtains with some fresh and neutral color light roman shades. What would you do with the bigger window? Roman blinds? Long drapes? Eliminate the blinds? Sorry!! I wish I could make the windows larger. And the room light. Thanks for any help!

I don't like the dark chocolate. The lighter taupe would be better. The blue seems a little dark too.

To be honest I agree! It all looks so different now that the cabinets are light that the colors really stick out more. I want to change them both but will likely keep the blue for now. The truth is I'm tired! After painting the cabinets, adding finish work on my island, the board and batten, and staining my banister-- all myself. I am out of energy and low on budget. I just have to prioritize what I do now and later. Thanks for your time to help me. I will do the neutral for sure and right away.
