I'm probably not much help, but I tend to stick with Benjamin Moore paint. Try searching their website. There's a few shades of grays that my fiancé and I are considering for our Bungalow.

Benjamin Moore AF720 Sparrow is a nice warm gray, looks nice with white trim.

I wanted to go quite a bit lighter than Sparrow, because it is soooo hot in West Texas. So I have decided on Repose Gray and Pure White both from SW.

Like the sparrow.

Try painting your porch ceiling a very light blue!

As a designer, I prefer Sherwin Williams especially when it comes to outdoor paint. BM does have so great Historic colors but SW just released a line with HGTV that is fabulous as well. If you are still having trouble consult a Designer in your area. I usually only charge a small fee for color consultanting ($50 or so). Good Luck! Your home is going to be fabulous.

I think painting it a light gray is smart, given the climate you live in. It will deflect lots more light and heat.
The gray will always look good with the white, but make sure you have some accents, like nice landscaping with a bit of green, beautiful flowerpots or a nice bold front door, without it, it might look a little bland with the intense sunlight.
Sorry I dont have any specific colour suggestions, but there were lots of gray topics in the ideabooks lately, just search it.
I would always do a few big sample swatches on the exterior before making a final choice.

Sounds good. I second painting the ceiling of the porch light blue. It is a nice finishing touch.
