You definitely need an area rug that is big enough to have at least the front feet of your sectional on it. I'd keep the yellow pillows, but replace the covers of the other ones with more 'butch' looking ones ;-) Can you take some more photos so we can see the entire room? Not just the part where the sofa is. Would be nice if you could pull the sofa away from the wall. The rooms seems large enough. Maybe even turn it around 1/4, but it depends on what's on this side of the room.

I'll see if I can find you some ideas for lighting, tables, rugs and pillows. I'm thinking Roman shades for the bay windows and floor to ceiling curtains for the other window. Again, it depends a bit on the rest of the room, whether there are more windows.

With whatever pieces you add consider navy blue and dark greys or chocolates/ browns to complement the yellow.

I agree with junef22 about adding wood or leather pieces would give a masculine feel.

Depends on how the space will be used, but consider a leather ottoman in a square shape with tray.

Hi, love your room and sectional. Really, I think you're off to a great start. But yes, you're right...there is more of a feminine vibe in the space and primarily it's because of the softer lines and color of your sectional and the yellow, floral accents.

Some ideas to bring in more masculine elements in.

- Add a solid, woven wool textural rug or one with tone on tone subtle pattern

- Add some stainless or chrome accents and accessories

- Add side chair(s) with a more masculine feel - one with a higher back and/or ones with a metal or warm wood frame/arm - maybe in a dark gray, "tweedy" fabric or dark brown (espresso?) leather.

- Replace the floral pillows with textural solid ones or ones with geometric/more angular patterns

- Bring in some warmer or dark wood tones, ie walnut, charcoal gray

- Add in touches of black and/or dark charcoal in accents/accessories. I noticed the 2 photos in your ideabook had a lot more black accents in them than what's in your space currently. Maybe that's what you're drawn to and feel like you're missing?

Anyway, these are just some ideas. IMO I like rooms that have a good balance of both feminine and masculine touches. So perhaps just try a couple of the ideas above first then see if the space feels better and more "balanced" to you.

The photos I posted above were more masculine in feel IMO. These posted below I feel have a good mixture of both masculine and feminine. Hopefully it can give you some good ideas or inspiration.
