I hate this color in my kitchen!

I want something bright and cool, but these dark cabinets, counters, and floor are making it hard to decide. What should I do???

How about a pale buttercream? It would brighten the room up.

To compliment your plates on the wall and I think there is a bit of yellow in your tile, I would head towards a soft yellow.

Pull the apricot color from the tile to go with as it will look wonderful with your dark cabinets, and is very warm and inviting. I have it in my bathroom, and can't tell you how much I love it as it's so cheery!

Anything but that baby diaper brown! How about a nice sagey green that works with our bar chairs?

A light gray or beige would look good.

You need to lighten up. Dark cherry cabinets dark counter. I would play off your plates . Country French. Buttercream walls. Try to think Provence

No don't touch those beautiful cherry cabinets. Try a lighter wall color first.

Celtic grey by Behr is a really a grey teal, but once on the walls looks light blue. It's neutral and goes great with wood tones. My hubby and I have used it a lot over the years and we never get tired of it.

those cabinets are beautiful and I just spent a month trying to mimic that look with general finishers java stain. Your kitchen looks like it should be in a magazine....the only thing that darkens it is the countertops.

    I would paint the cabinets.

Beautiful kitchen and cabinets. Are you just moving in or ready for a change?

Your cabinets and floor are very nice. You just need to change the walls to lighter color to have a contrast. The light colors suggested above will be very good.

Apricot to orange would be bright and be appetizing. never paint a kitchen a color that you wouldn't eat.

Believable Buff SW6120 is a nice light, warm color that would tie in nicely with your family room. But, I'm afraid that a lot of the darkness is due to the counters and backsplash both being black. I would suggest putting in a different backsplash if that is an option. A light subway tile or even a mosaic in a warm palette would work since you don't have a lot of pattern anywhere else. You have a nice space to work with - your kitchen is beautiful.

I think a great earthy green/blue would look awesome with the dark cabinets.
