This is white Carrara (some call it Bianco Carrara) it is marble not granite. Marble is much softer than granite & requires more TLC but makes a beautiful counter. If you love to cook, have kids or tend to be a messy cook (marble can etch with acids like lemon juice, & stains with things like olive oil, red wine, or tomato) then you might want to take a look at Quartz tops. Companies like LG have been doing a much better job of mimicking natural stone in the last couple of years & you may get a color you like with a much more durable surface. Check out LG Viatera colors like Rococo and Minuete.

Shoreline Cabinet Company are you able to comment on the quality of the LG products you suggest? I love the Minuet color but have not heard the best things about the Viatera product vs. some of the other well known brands like Silestone, Cambria etc.

Jennifer the Viatera is fine to use there are a lot of factors that can affect someone's opinion & experience with a Quartz top of any brand. 1st it is not indestructible & at times dealers give the impression it is. It is possible to chip Quartz tops usually on edges (they are stronger & less likely but it does happen) they can also be damaged by heat, for instance a hot pot left on the countertop for extended periods of time can scorch the area & they can stain if harsh chemicals or foods are left on the counter for extended periods ( red wine, spaghetti sauce ect...). These issues are not very likely but can happen & when sold as the "perfect" countertop consumers are not prepared. Quartz tops can take a lot of abuse but again are not indestructible. 2nd, the fabricator can make all the difference & a company that stands behind its product and not only has a good rep. But works for you as an advocate if an issue arises instead of handing you off will go a long way ( think about the impact you as a disgruntled consumer has vs a company that fabricates 200-300 grand per year of a Quartz product. We have not had any bad experiences with LG products & we carry the other Quartz tops as well (silestone, cambria, caesarstone). I like the new colors from LG such as Minuet & Rococo & Viatera is the only US made Quartz; companies such as siltstone & caesarstone are made in Italy & have been doing it longer but in the end I would be happy to have any of them & what guides us in directing the customer is the design & color. Find a reputable independent Kitchen & Bath dealer or Fabricator & let them guide you, Hope this helps. Thanks
