Grout

Just had tile grouted. It is a glass and stone mosaic, so very uneven surfaces. There are a few places that grout covers part of a stone tile. It doesn't really look bad or bother me unless it is a sign of poor craftsmanship. Thoughts?

I agree with SancyC in principle. However, no one will be as careful with your home as you will be.

I call tell you from grouting my backsplash and 300 sq ft of tile floor that some grout is going to get in the tile. Get yourself some sort of small scraper, and *gently* scrap the grout off.

Very common. The installer should have taken a little more time when cleaning. Like Hayleydaniels said, a small scraper or razor blade can be used to scrape away the excess grout on the tile.
That is a very good looking glass mosaic, would like to see an overall photo.

Thank you for advise. Looks like I know what I'll be doing Saturday! I think I'm fortunate the tile is not sealed yet.

I would call the installer back to remove the extra grout, since you just had it done and it isn't sealed yet.
If he scratches it with a razor blade then he is responsible for the damage.

some of the stone tiles set low, and when they sponge it off it will just be buried more. be careful to clean and not excavate or you'll have a clean stone sitting down in a hole.

To be honest with you, I personally would not seal your backsplash. Main reason is, most sealers will leave a haze behind on your glass and is a real sob to clean off.

If it doesn't bother u then just leave it and don't think about it anymore. If it does bother u then ask the tradesman to fix it or fix it yourself. Clean up of grout isn't hard but just dull and long.
