Need help coordinating roof/siding/door

My husband and I are trying to figure out what color vinyl siding and front door would look best with our new roof. The roof is GAF Timberline in Slate. Our initial thoughts were a neutral gray or taupe siding and a pop of color with the door, but would love to hear what you think. The house is a 1980's contemporary colonial in the northern suburbs of NYC. thanks!!!
