I am having a dilemma deciding the flooring of my staircase. I'm not sure what is the "modern" take on stairs. We currently have laminate all throughout the house and stairs and would like to change the flooring to porcelain tile but not sure what to do with the stairs. I have a 5 year old so I am concerned that if I put tile on the stairs it could become dangerous if someone falls. I am not sure if I like the combination of tile on the bottom plant of the house and wood on the stairs. Any advice?
