I would fill the wall under the high little windows with built-in storage.

Absolutely! Built-ins up to the windows would make those windows look more like they fit. Right now they look too small. I would make closed storage with cabinet doors across the bottom, and maybe pull out cabinets like a tilt out hamper that could be used as toy box space. You could have shelves above that with some baskets, books and decorative items. I would definitely take the frames out of the windows… Makes it look a little cluttered.then, of course, you would have to get rid of the sectional. I would center the TV on the wall and float the coach and a couple chairs across from it. Nice room!

Thank you for the ideas - I've thought about built ins on that way, but here are my mental challenges...those 3 small windows are not spaced evenly on that wall. Would that make anything we build there look off? Also, what should be do about the large blank area to the right of the TV (where the toys are). If we move the TV and furniture too much closer to the window wall, there is not room to walk thru.

If you do wall-to-wall built ins, the windows will not appear any differently than they do now. Depending if you have room on them to display items, they will take away the focus on those windows. Don't worry about that corner to the right of your TV right now. Once you get some shelving on that wall, you will know how much space you have to deal with.

You are probably the only one who will know that the windows are off. They're less likely to be noticed when the new shelving steals all the attention.

My first thought was to add large drapes that cover the whole wall - light fabrics or colors to keep the space from looking dark, but you need some vertical lines on that wall. Drapes can also hide uneven spacing. Built-ins would also be a great solution (just a little more costly).

As far as the empty space next to the TV, you could either extend built-ins around the corner (great for toy storage), or purchase a large entertainment center. My sister did that with a large empty wall and it really pulled the room together (going up to the ceiling almost). Most large furniture stores have them, Ikea also has some cheap but great options.
