Deck Door

Is it weird for a single pane door to the deck to open to the outside as it opposed to inside the house? the project I am working on has a very small kitchen and I have cabinetry on one side and they are very close to the wall on the other. It looks crowded with the door opening in but my partner insists that a regular, good old single pane door should not open out. What is your take on it?

It depends on where you live. In mild climate areas it's probably fine to have the door swing out. In northern climate areas a snowfall will prevent door from opening and impair egress.

Check building code with local code enforcement officer to be sure.
