Hi Morgan - It seems like you look through the sun room from the living room? And then to the outside which is lot of trees. So a unifying color would be green. I don't mean paint your walls green green, but you could use a very pale shade of green on the LR walls above the chair rail and even the ceiling and leave the bottom white. Pops of deeper green and plants would pull it together. You need one other accent color. Looks like you like red? Could you paint the dining chairs red?

Also, there is too much furniture in the LR. The tall corner unit is throwing off the look. The lounge chair is too big. It looks like you only have room for the two sofas. Can one of the sofas float? You could try the corner unit on the other corner. I need a picture showing what is on the other side of the LR. Thanks

@mdenton2014 the rooms do not share a solid Wall. The sunroom is all windows extending from the living room. You are right about the pictures, they are too low and that is on my list to fix! I love the mirror idea, i will be on the hunt for the right size!

Fun areas to work with; lucky you!

Here are some ideas that will not involve any money and might get your juices flowing.

Move the plaid sofa into the Sunroom. Put the two Windsor chairs at right angles to the sofa for conversation ease. Place the dining table opposite and parallel to the sofa on the other side of the room. Place one of the slip covered chairs at the long side of the table. Place the black book case near the table and use the dining table as a desk or craft area.

Living room, leave sofa where it is and leave Club chair where it is. Place cocktail table next to the Club chair with long side parallel to the back wall but next to the chair; floating if you will. It will become an end table for the chair and possible hold a TV? Put the pink lamp next to the Club chair on the cocktail table and if the lamp looks too small and low for reading, just find one or two docorative boxes, stacked and put the lamp on those for height. Drop the floor lamps height as low as it will go and place them on each side of the sofa; the shades look like they will tilt down. Place the two slipcovered chairs side by side at a right angle to the sofa but opposite the Club chair on the side of the room where you took the picture. If you can budget it, then I think two small square upholstered cubes in an animal print in black and white would look great in front of the sofa, will relate to the black book case in the sun room, and add room to put feet up or move around for extra guests?

The pink print is beautiful. Did you take the picture? Good job. Make two more copies so you have three and hang all three in a line where the one is; I think they can be matted on foam core for rigidity and should be hung horizontally and three inches apart. They look good at that height. Find some turquoise/teal pillows that look good on the plaid sofa and on the beige sofa. Maybe suede or wool for the sun room (1 or 2) and silk for the living room, shiny and bright, solid or patterned, just turquoise/teal. This will be a connectding color for the two rooms, or it could be a color you love in the plaid sofa and just bring that into the living room and put it with the pink. What ever color you select in the turquoise/teal range find a paint color that matches in value and decide how bright or dark you want it. Then paint the whole room and the chair rail the color you like, light or dark or medium, you decide but a color you love. Here is a post of a turquoise room that might send you on your way, or not.

With the chocolate tile floor in the sunroom, I'd paint the table a powdery teal, turquoise or a muted version of the green from your hot pink flower print. Replace your chairs with either something like these or with transparent acrylic chairs so you can see through to the view. The plaid sofa looks a bit saggy and is too dark for your bright rooms. If you can overhaul it with new cushion stuffing you might slipcover it in an indoor/outdoor fabric and move it to the sunroom. The dark fabric will quickly fade if you take it directly into the sunlight. Center the bookcase on the end wall and angle the chair and footstool where you now have the bookcase, so its occupant can see outside. You might want to paint the bookcase too. With all the sunshine, I'd go for a casual beach feeling. You can set that overall tone with the right area rug. Consider a wool sisal-look rug for a beachy vibe. Continue the blue/green theme with pillows and more art which should either hang 5" above furniture or have centerpoints 5' above the floor. The lamp and table are too tall for any of the seating. Table top should be within 1" of the seating arm, and when lamp and table are measured together, they should be somewhere between 58-64" from the floor.

I like the seating in the sunroom, but will it be comfortable year round? Be sure to slipcover all of it with I/O fabrics and add the area rug. Not a fan of the cockeyed bookcase. Put it flat against the wall so it looks comfortable and not like it is trying to compensate for some lack or flaw.

I think your initial post on this thread may have been a rearrangement you had already done. Is that right. Different people see different ways to arrange & only you can ultimately decide what you want to live with. The only change I would suggest to the initial photo is to remove the bottles from the corner bookcase! Easy, huh?

Sandra you are making it easy! I was thinking 'what can I do with what I have until DH and I can buy what we really want after we save for awhile?' But like you saym everyone has a different answer because this is what Houzz is all about!

Visually the rearrangement works much better. The dining table looks great with the wood floor and seating area is much better proportioned in the sunroom. Still think some wallpaint would go a long way in the new dining area. Can you move the hutch thing to the back wall of dining room where it will backdrop the space and put the corner thing where the hutch was? I'd paint that corner thing and put dining room stuff on display there. Center the hutch on the back wall with a big mirror over it and two buffet lamps. Remove the floor lamps and the extra chair from the dining area. Consider a chandelier over the dining table. Not sure you need a rug. When you see the space like that decide on wall and accent colors. Good luck.

I would suggest that you have the same wall color in both rooms, the same area rugs, and the same matching curtains. Since you obviously want to let the "outdoors" inside, I would suggest you display two or three green, leafy plants in each room to bring in some natural color, life, and air into the area. The same accent color in both rooms would help too, and I would suggest a metallic gold in throw pillows for the seating pieces in the living room and bolster pillows for the dining chairs in the sunroom. Some decorators suggest using a lot of black and white for a sun room to accentuate the natural green colors of the outdoors and to provide a neutral background.
