I live in Puyallup, WA a suburb of Tacoma. I am seeing adult crane fly flying around low at lawn the past couple of days.

I looked up info on European Crane Fly and supposedly the adults are only alive and flying late Summer/early Fall and we're not even close to that.

I found one report of a different crane fly named Common Crane Fly that was spotted in Olympia WA not far from me. The article gave no details about Common Crane Fly unlike the tons of info you can find on the web about European Crane Fly. So I am curious since I'm seeing crane fly in early April is it a Common Crane Fly? and if so what are the timeframes of this crane fly re: when larvae and when adult flys around. Thanks.
