Lovely work. I too would not have used a shower curtain, but rather a glass partition as a final touch I'd bring in some sky blue accessories to tie the wall colour into the room as at the moment there's nothing else in there that colour so it looks a little alone. Three items in the same colour (eg walls, towels and a soap dish/glass bowl) will make the space seem more coordinated, and like the blue was picked consciously to coordinate with the neutral colours.

Neutrals are such a good idea. You can change a few things in a few years if you like and have a whole different look without spending a lot of money (but you knew that, of course :)). Well done. What tile choices are in the tub area, if you don't mind sharing?

What did you use for flooring?

Having just finished renovating my kitchen myself, I can appreciate all the work and it looks FAB! My only concern is that your fixtures in the tub appear to be on an exterior wall. I don't know where you are but I live in the northeast, and exterior wall fixtures necessitated a full bathroom gut and remodel due to freezing pipes.

Great job! Looks clean and elegant. As one of those claustrophobics who feels too confined by shower curtains I too prefer glass, but you did it just right, made the choices for your life now. If you want glass in the future, it is easily done.

I think the shower curtain is a much better idea than a shower screen, easy to keep clean and doesn't go mouldy around the edges, I would have done exactly the same! Nice bathroom!

Looks really nice! I bought two shower curtains and placed one at each end. Looks nice framing the tub.

Huge improvement. You could have sliding glass sliding doors but this adds of course considerably to the cost. One thing though I would consider is a shower attachment that is fitted on a sliding fixture so it can be put at desired height or simply handheld. Useful for bathing small children. You already have the plumbing in place.

we have used both glass doors and curtains over the years...

I prefer the curtains - found the glass doors a challenge to keep spotless.

Also, the shower curtain is more in keeping with the age of our home.

We used a dual shower rod this time, from Costco and I love it. Have a fabric curtain on the inside and lace curtain on the outside. Can wash and change out easily for a new look.

So pretty. Love that you went with shower curtain. The constant upkeep on glass certainly is annoying!

Lovely and shower curtain makes sense. I really like both depending on the room, the old style glass doors are a problem as far as mould etc but not the new frameless ones.

Take your point about keeping a glass door spotless. I am lucky to live in an area where we have hard water so no problem with keeping glass doors clean.

Nice remodel and nice colors! I am a huge fan of white tubs and using a shower curtain rather than glass doors in a small space.

Wonderful transformation! We just updated our small full bath, too. Removed glass doors (they made the shower very small) and installed a curved rod like yours. It is SO much better that the doors. I have a curtain with a sheer top that allows light in and the ability to see out while in the shower. The look is easy to change when I tire of the color, and I can toss the curtain in the wash whenever needed. Would never go back to glass doors again for a small shower/tub combo.

To oakvillestory You did very well finding someone in Oakville to do a bathroom for $2700. You did a great job choosing timeless white for both the tub and shower curtain. I am sure you will enjoy your bathroom as it looks fresh and clean.

Nice update to the room! The whole glass vs. curtain issue is entirely personal preference. We remodeled a year and a half ago and went with a curtain. We had glass doors at our previous home and they were a nightmare. Our lifestyle is also not a "squeegee and wipe every time someone turns on the faucet" lifestyle. So the curtain works for us and we have no regrets. A coworker did put in glass, and after seeing our bathroom, does regret their choice. To each their own. Glass looks nice but can be higher maintenance.

Yours is a lovely Reno! Have made similar choices. Our small bathroom had a 6 foot bisque colour tub, ( the only tub in the house, so we had to keep it), no shower, 3 rows of yellow tiles. Altho the pink swirl laminate countertop did match the pink carpet and walls! Switched out the tub for a white one, plumbed in for a shower, had a small pot light installed overhead, found some iridescent shower curtains. And voila. I love how clean and bright it looks. Sorry, photos r sideways.

Dear oakvillestory - I really need your help! We are just starting the process of remodeling our bathroom and I am in the process of trying to replace our tub (which is the identical tub that you had - only in white - (yours was in much better shape than ours was!! ) I am looking at every possible source, both in our town and online, and I'm just not finding anything that fits both our space and our taste. Your new tub looks perfect! Please tell me the brand and the dimensions of your new one and where you got it. (our old tub is approximately 5 foot length by 24 inches wide, 15 and1/2 inches high). I would really be so glad to get this info! I see now that you've written that you got the tub at Lowe's - is that right? Our Lowe's didn't seem to have anything like that,

Looks great! HIGHLY agree that with a little baby/toddler, that having a glass door for the tub is not a good idea. You will need to lean over the tub for a few years to give a bath/hairwash. Shower curtain is a much more practical solution. Good job on making your selections timeless and not trendy.

I do love the blue bathtub, which out of everything, seemed to be the only thing in decent condition. Even so, the update is SO much better, fresher, and nicer. Good that you were able to get rid of the step in front of the original bath, too. Enjoy!

Your remodel looks great! It must feel so good every time you go in there. I remodeled the only bathroom in my first house using materials and colors I really loved, and it became my favorite room in the house. Enjoy the fruits of your hard work and be proud of yourself.
