Do you mean the pump that is mounted into the countertop? If so, I like them, some prefer not to have them. Some malfunction and others go for years without issue; they are easily replaced so I don't mind the gamble.

We've had ours for over 10 years -- constant use -- and love it...no breakdown. If anything, though, I may try to find one with a longer spout: because of the minimum cutout (i.e., distance from the sink edge) granite installers generally require, the unit itself sits too far back, making the spout a bit too close to the sink edge for our comfort. Takes a bit of maneuvering to position a large pot under there when we need to squirt the soap in.

Do a search for soap dispenser in Kitchens and you'll find a ton of good comments, pro and con.

Based on my searches here, it seems like most people that have them, like them. Those without don't usually miss them. I ended up purchasing one for my remodel for the clean counter look.

We don't have one. I have never had one and the only one I've ever used at a friends house was a piece of crap. I didn't want extra holes in the counter...kinda hard to change your mind later on when there's a hole in the counter. A bottle of dish soap and a bottle of hand soap sit out all the time in my kitchen...doesn't bother me at all but I'm not the fussy type...clean yes, perfectly neat and staged at all times, not.

Good quality ones that hold up are expensive. I've had my Franke soap dispenser for three years with no problems so far. Love having one and keeping the clutter off the counter.

I bought a Delta pull-out sprayer faucet with the soap dispenser 10 years ago. I HATED it. Only because someone had to get into the cabinet, unscrew the bottle, and bring it out to refill it. PITA! A couple of years ago, the head of this faucet fell off. It had rusted out and was pretty corroded. My husband liked the dispenser for practical reasons as he is a mechanic and, as such, gets his hands pretty dirty. Our kitchen is the closest room to the garage. So we went on a hunt for the perfect faucet and soap dispenser. I found an American Standard pull-out sprayer faucet with the soap dispenser. This dispenser is SO much better. Just pull out the pump and refill. No getting into the cabinet to get the bottle to refill. :-)

That WOULD be a PITA! Ours fills from the top. :)

Ours came w/ our Moen faucet and I really like it so far :-) The only issue I have had is overflowing it when refilling (from the top).

We have a Blanco and it's already been replaced 4x in the past 5 years. Yes the company guaranteed it, but it's a pita to keep having to replace it. When it works, it's great.

I got rid of my sidesprayer & put in a soap dispenser. It was $19.99 from Lowe's and I've had it for some five years, works perfectly & fills from the top. I do have the same overflowing issue that thepeppermintleaf mentioned above.

I have had soap dispensers for years in a number of different kitchens. It's the only other hole on the countertop other than the faucet. I like them. Mine have worked without issue. I typically use the Kohler dispensers. I've selected Hansgrohe for this go around. I ordered the matching finish dispenser.
