When i design cabinetry i always have a small void between the actual base of the cabinet and the base you see where the light recesses, this way the puck light fits in flush. Most "box cabinetry" is now offering this option but it is an option you have to ask for. Regards, Susan.

Thank you for your response Susan. I believe with your "terminology" and a printout of the photo, I will finally get what I'm after from the custom cabinet maker I hired for the job in our kitchen. Should you have the need to replace the puck would that require removal of the "fascia" surrounding recessed puck? If you could expound just a bit more I would truly appreciate.

The fascia plate that fits on the bottom of the cabinet is removable so should there be any problems with the lights they are easily replaced. Make sure you or the electrician co-ordinates with the cabinet maker as to the depth of the lights you choose. Great to see my designs make it over to Texas! Regards, Susan
