I live in Ga and have had to "hold" fish in a 150 gallon rubbermade water trough over the summer, winter, and spring. I kept it in the shade with an air stone running 24/7 and the fish did fine. Also was stuffed with plants and fed them every day when it was warm. Did partial water changes every couple of months. Once we got the house and pond built we moved them from the rental house to their new home.

My poor fish have the opposite challenges, surviving in a smallish pond with a donut heater through the coldest February in our history, many below zero days, they came through amazingly well though the frogs weren't so lucky! This whole extreme heat issue in southern GA is very alien to us northerners!
