opinions and wall color suggestions

I recently completed this day bed, in a spare bedroom. I really like the way it turned out, and I'm going to transform it into my 8 yo. daughter's new bedroom. I am NOT committed to anything in the room, other than the daybed. suggestions for wall colors, and decor would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you, in advance

These accessories might look nice. Your daughter could pick out a color for lamp shades.

I agree with a momma. I think any color on the pillows will look great, except the red(or pink?).

Can we see her own room now? Pictures of this room too. Does she need storage for stuff? What furniture goes into this room? Closet space?

    So is the bedding staying?

I would have an electrician install barn light sconces on each side of the window for reading and free up space on the two night stands.

BM Key Largo Green and Red Tulip is one of my favorite color combos!

Wow, what a beautiful bed. I would keep the bedding; lots of great colours in it to coordinate with. Lucky girl.

That is the exact same bedding my sister used in the "Princess Room" in her new house. We painted a med light blue on the wall, hot raspberry pink tufted ottoman with metallic gold legs, and other accessories from that line (Target), painted an old wooden dining chair a metallic gold, hung different colored paper lanterns in the corner above the gold chair, and white framed Hawaiian flower pics. It's so bright and cheery!! Everyone loves it.

And a peacock colored tufted headboard. The color is like a dark teal.

It's beautiful! It looks like a shabby chic finish has been applied and can be quite lovely for a little girl's room. I love the idea of soft pink like Paisley Pink, and to include something that is wood, perhaps old wood frames flanking the window. I would suggest you paint all the ceilings the same as the walls because of the odd shape, and it will really make the bed stand out. Shutters on the window would be an easy window treatment, but a pretty pom-pom edged curtain would look very sweet.

Oh, and yes, if the linens are staying, then any of those colours in a softer version would be pretty too.

    Good luck!

Love the daybed! Great use of space! Is your daughter in any extracurriculars? Does she like reading, clothes, dolls, animals, etc? Favorite color or favorite movie? Even answering just one will give us a jumping off point. There are also plenty of options if you/she want to keep the bedding.

sorry for replying so late....Computer issues :\

I am currently putting some built in closets together, for the room. I am hoping they will turn out nice, and I will post pictures as soon as the project is finished. They will be similar to the bed and existing trim. In regards to the room design, my daughter LOVES pink. We are not totally committed to the bedding, partially because of the red possibly clashing with the color pink. In the walls, diving the bed and the side tables, I did add electrical. So, adding lighting or sconces would be very easy. I appreciate all of the great input. I really like the idea of keeping the wall and ceiling colors the same. The awkward shape has always had me confused on how to properly address that transition. Shutters are also something that never even crossed my mind! I will pos followup pics, as soon as we incorporate some of the great suggestions.

    Thanks for all the input!

    Here are some bedding ideas:

If you keep the current paint color, I would get pink bedding that is more on the coral side...

The walls, ceilings should all be the same color. I love what you have created for your daughter.

I am doing some work in the knee walls ( built in closets), so the room will be repainted, regardless. I was thinking about using a shade darker, or maybe even a shade lighter, but in the same tone as the daybed. Is that a decent choice? Currently, the walls are a shade of tan, with an almost pinkish undertone. It doesn't look bad at all, but I think there is a whole lot more that a coat of paint could do for the overall look of the room.

thanks again, for all the help :)
