I might stick with black. It is classic. In most cases I have seen colored Eames Lounges they were reproductions. Or what you might refer to in the fashion world as knockoffs. That said, if you are planning on purchasing the real deal you would have to have it made custom which would heavily increase the price. Also, black may work on a more long term basis. Green is the new neutral though so if your bold with color go for it! I guess it just depends are your situation. Based on your "grown up" furniture line I am guessing you are a younger family/couple (correct me if I am wrong). So it may be more practical for you to chose black if you see yourself doing residence hopping in the foreseeable future. That said, green can always work well in a bedroom or an office. I have probably just further confused you...... :) Both color choice are great and if you love green and can see it working long term go for it but otherwise I would end up choosing black.

As a closing thought I would like to commend you on decorating your apartment/home with collectable pieces that will last a lifetime. What a bold, wise and smart decision. :)

I think that the black is a classic option. There was a new black on black version released last year that's a cool new version of an old classic. Definitely one of my favorite chair designs ever!

That is so beautiful & with your unique furnishings it will be a classic. Always best to accessorize with color so you do not get tired of any one thing.

In case anyone looking for a colored eames lounge chair finds this thread: the set of Gossip Girl (old show on the CW network) had an Eames chair colored in a bright chevron fabric. When it was time to reupholster mine, I kept in in classic black leather, but I still love the way that chair looked. Here's a link to a post with a picture of it:

Yes, It's the Hudson in Toronto. We have moved since but it is a great building.
