My T Fire wasn't that difficult to root, but it also was not the quickest or easiest. Took me about 6 weeks from start to growing (roots, leaves, etc.). If your scared you might want to graft it as its more of a sure thing.

I have rooted this one too and it wasn't difficult .. But I do understand about Kapalua. I haven't been successful rooting it either. Heard it was a hard one and I believe it!! So if you question it, I would agree with James and have it grafted.

Kapalua was painful because I got *so* close -- root nubs and everything -- but by the time I tried grafting it, it was too late. Oh, well. Maybe MPG will randomly start selling that one as well!

It'll come down to whether I have any root stock to graft with ... I don't have any seedlings big enough to use, so I've been using common whites and yellows. I had good luck last year using the generic yellow/whites sold by Home Depot for $10. It's a little early for that (only a little, though), so I may try bag rooting in the mean time (also worked well for me last year), and then graft when I'm able. I like that the cutting is further ahead with grafting, so I think I will probably go that route in the end.
