Raspberries Prune Gone Wrong?

My location is in northern Illinois growing zone 5.

Recently moved into a house last year with a yard needing some work(owners were moving, so what did they care?). There was a small raspberry patch growing in their yard, but the raspberries were pretty dinky. I decided to prune on a warm day in early March. I understand there is a difference between primocanes and floricanes, but decided to cut most canes down anyway as I was ok if I didn't get any fruit this year. While it has been a relatively cool March and April in northern Illinois (low 40's to low 50's for most of the month other than 1 week), everything in my yard and neighboring yards is growing but my raspberries.

I left a few canes to stand and they are sprouting leaves, but no new shoots are emerging from the area where the canes were cut. I also pruned roses, but those haven't started putting up any new canes. The pruned canes, though they are short, are leafing. When should I expect the raspberries to put up new shoots? Around the same time as the roses? Did I kill the raspberries? Thanks!
