You could try gray glass subway tiles, they're quite beautiful.

I'm confused. What other wall tiles are you referring to if your backsplash is red tile?

@Feeny: the cherry red mosaic is only the backsplash between the bottom and top cabs on one side. There are still 2 sides (walls) that I need to tile. thats what Im referring to.

Without seeing pictures, my general advice would be to stick with the same backsplash through the whole kitchen.

Agree with feeny, keep it consistent, unless you're going to be doing larger tiles on the walls, then you can do a smaller backsplash, but I wouldn't recommend red. I would keep it more neutral for the tile, but you could paint any open walls in a red paint.
