Here was the coat closet (relocated to the den immediately to the right) and entrance to kitchen. Bought condo a few months ago. Love it, except for the kitchen!

And here was the kitchen looking towards windows. Note that wall on right is back of coat closet. Who puts a sink in the middle of the kitchen like that? Crazy! A wall of narrow cupboards were pretty useless.

And the next view. Note that the fridge is sticking out into the doorway of the dining room - really!

And the wall came down! Yes, it's load-bearing, and yes, we had to move mechanicals, but it was worth it! We had to leave the soffit for the support. Our contractor also had to cut down the fume hood to get it to fit.
