I like the new nightstands a lot. Do you?

I do like centered beds, if possible. If you move the bed to the center, will you have enough room to sit/work at the computer desk and walk between the back of the chair and side of the bed? I'm assuming the dark piece with the lamp on it will be removed.

Any chance the file cabinet could fit in the corner of a closet? I know it can be tough to find spots for items you need but they don't really work with the decor, especially in a smaller home.

I like your progress too! I think the new side tables work very well. I like the desk in its new spot. I like how the size of the wall lamps looks near the smaller scale side tables. As far as where to hang the wall lamps, I'm thinking outside the width of the headboard, but not sure if they should be centered over the side tables or a little closer in (sort of above the space between the top of the side tables and edge of the headboard. Let's see what others say.

I'd wait to make any decisions about art over the headboard until you figure out what will replace the too small chandelier. You might not need art if you go with something like the Ikea light discussed earlier.

You'll want to find a way to conceal the cords under the computer desk. Maybe something as simple as stapling felt to the back of the desk (making a desk back out of a large piece of felt).

Rebecca, it can get exhausting. Maybe best to figure out where to place the lights and then take a little break until you're feeling more cheerful about it. I think you're actually making nice progress and you'll realize that in a few days. You've made some wonderful changes to your home in a short amount of time. It's fine to step away from time to time and enjoy how far it's come.

Hi Ann, I just had a loss in my family, I lost my babies at 3 months of pregnancy (identical twins) and I have been trying to make my house into something that doesnt resemble what it used to when I lost them. Of course I have loads to live for and I completely adore my son and daughter to absolute pieces and I mostly enjoy making the house look better for them. But sometimes I look at a room and Im like..."hmmm well it still looks like it used to - I don't care anymore..." But I am trying to move forward! My husband totally agreed to get new stuff in the house...I'll post before photos as well.

But seriously you have all been such a help! I look forward in complementing this room and finally relaxing a little. We don't have much extra to spend so I am trying to slowly add new inexpensive pieces and using some of the stuff I have at home etc. I like the lamps over the night stands as well.

Grover, here is the Rug, It is a lot brighter now, I have hand washed it! Its extremely soft and in amazing condition. Its 5ishx8ish.

Oh, Rebecca, I'm so sorry about your loss. I understand your wanting to stay busy busy busy and to change things up. Just keep experimenting and eventually you'll have a look you love.

I'm really sorry for your loss. That must really suck. Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes we don't understand why and it seems so unfair. I'm sure years down the road you will look back and see the purpose of loss and mourning. There are brighter days for you up ahead.

Here are some shelving options. I would probably go with something that attaches directly to the wall and allows ventilation for the heater below. In addition, I would pick something more narrow to ensure there is space between the shelf and the night stand, for visual separation.

You can use one shelf for files, one for bathroom towels, put a basket in to hide other small stuff that can look cluttered on its own. Basically, customize it how you wish.

By the way, Ikea has some great wire solutions. I bought some white tube thingy in Ikea that only cost me a couple of bucks and you can cut it and customize for your needs. I stuffed all of my wires in it and you can't even tell it is there. You can even paint it the same color as your walls!

So sorry to hear of your loss Rebecca! Many, many years ago, I had the same experience twice. I wasn't carrying twins though. I remember how down I was for some time after. I did have two children I carried to full term (as you have) and they have been a joy, as my 4 grandchildren are also.

Don't worry about your bedroom. It will come together nicely. Look how nice the living room turned out!

Really really sorry Rebecca. It is scary. I had twins but had bleeding and was in bed the last three months of pregnancy. It is not easy, but you are smart to be moving forward as best you can. My daugher had a pregnance the month before she was to have her IUD replaced; they had to do a D&C and my daughter was pretty devastated. But a year to the day she miscarried she found out she was pregnant and Oliver is now 5 months old and an angel of a baby. Sadness here but great job too.

On the bedside lamps, I have them and I thought I measure correctly but sometimes they are just so bright in my eyes. I am sure there is a google answer for correct height for wall scones in a bedroom by a bed, but I think one of you has to sit on the bed and one of you has to 'adjust to the best height for both people and come to a height that works for the shortest person......arrgh. Have fun...haha. You are doing an amazing job!

I also want to go to the fabric store to get faux fur throw. I sew really well so Instead of spending hundreds on a throw i can buy fabric and whip it up myself in about an 1 or so.

OK found some artwork! basically these can be made any way in almost any size - stretched vertically or more horizontally, cut into 3 pieces and them stretched canvas, framed with or without glass, or framed canvas.

I like the bedding you have in mind. I also like the drapes but if you replace the neutral rug with the oriental, the color of the drapes wouldn't work well. If you keep the current rug, those drapes are nice. With the blue drapes and the neutral rug and white bedding, I like art piece #3 and 5. I'd go with a single piece of horizontal art, 3/4 the width of the headboard. But, make sure you decide on the rug first, because I think you'd want to take a completely different direction with drapes, art, and possibly bedding if you choose the oriental. It would look nice but need different pairings than these blue and white options.

I'd need to see pics of it again, but probably nothing. Decluttering almost always looks nice and with the bed centered, I think nothing in that corner might be just fine. If it looks empty, maybe a vertical pair of art that looks really great with the future headboard art. I'd say no furniture.
