Microwave over stove

Thanks for quick response re 30" stove. Already lost option for wall oven (knocked out that wall!) contractor wants to put microwave over the 30" stove. My question is - is this ok looking? Would you ever do this? If not, do you prefer look of hood and where would you put microwave?

I currently have a microwave over the stove and I would never ever do it again!! We don't get nearly enough venting when we cook with high-heat, and the microwave handle really heats up (painfully so) if we are boiling water below it. If you can avoid it, I would try to put the microwave somewhere else.

Hello,

Yes this is ok. But you would have to make sure that it's a vented microwave. I have attached some photos of this application that look nice. If you do not want to do this, another option that is really popular right now is to put an undercounter microwave. Good luck!

Is rather see it on counter. Kids can get access to it safely, too.

Thank you VRA Interiors for that great pic! I see that if kitchen is
modern and top of stove is smooth the look could stay current - might be in that "never think about it again once installed" category.

You're very welcome. If you prefer a traditional or transitional look, you can still pull it off. Just different cabinetry and hardware, but the application can work with all design styles.

I have an undercounter microwave and would never have one above the stove again. I can peer in and see if something's cooked/melted without ever touching it.
