Help me pick a countertop color!

We have white cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and floors that have been stained a color similar to a deep, rich oak. Our kitchen walls will be light beige. What do we choose for our countertops and a backsplash? We have a thought to use reclaimed Colorado Pine Beetle wood for our backsplash which will have blue hues, but we continue to hunt for the right color countertop. We're leaning towards a lighter color...help!

Lots of options, depending on the overall look you want. (Honestly, though, I wouldn't let paint, the easiest element to change, be a determinant! Get the rest the way you like first.) Here are some examples, ranging from all-light to various levels of contrast. Lots of people seem to like all-white, but I think your bluish pine could be gorgeous with any sort of light grey or white stone, as well as many of the variegated ones.

Can find a lot of reclaimed wood in kitchen photos, but none of it ends up in the backsplash, probably because it's not as resistant to grease splatters, etc. If you have an island, though, that could be a great place for some of your neat pine!

Oh, I stand corrected. Here's one, for what that's worth. Can see you'd want to work carefully to get a neutral but coordinating counter. Maybe a greyish quartz?
