The general growth habit does resemble that of my 'Yolande d'Aragon', but the blooms are a bit different -- YdA is even more full in the center. Is it virtually thornless? I'm wondering if it might be 'Paul Neyron'. In any case, I think you're in the right area, as it looks very Hybrid Perpetual.

It reminds me of 'La Reine', or perhaps something related to it. It looks a lot like my "Barbara's Pasture Rose", a found rose that may or may not be 'La Reine'. Definitely a hybrid perpetual IMO. Those fat buds! I don't think it could be 'Yolande d'Aragon', which tends to grow up tall and lanky but with naked legs.

Rosefolly, to tell you the truth I have trouble telling the old roses apart - they all seem so similar to me - apart from with these three, I have no experience at all. Infact, the first two season that I had them, I pruned them as you would an HT but they threw out these huge canes so I decided to leave them. They are actually rather naked around the bottom that's why I pruned 1/3 of the canes quite low this year. Seems to have helped, They look a lot fuller round the bottom.
