Pepper Comparison Test- results

Don't know if this is useful to anyone, but I eat a lot of peppers and have been comparing the productivity of varieties over the past couple of years. This is in Syracuse, clay soil, no fertilizer, between two and five plants of each variety, planted in the same bed. This was last years results, average pounds per plant.

5.97 Anaheim-Numex Joe E. Parker
2.22 Canary Bell
3.12 California Wonder
2.77 Early Jalapeno
6.91 Italian Marconi Golden
3.76 Pablano
5.64 Pepperoncini Greek
2.80 Purple Beauty
3.50 Quadrato D'Asti Rosso

Quadrato was the most productive bell type. Marconi was the earliest to have harvestable peppers, and the most productive overall, with walls almost as thick as a bell. Pepperoncini matured the most fruit to full color.
