Bathroom Reno Project

We're in the middle of our bathroom reno/remodel - now new stuff is finally going in which is a great milestone after a couple of months of planning and demo.

I've done/will be doing everything myself other than plumbing and electrical which was roughed in this past week.

The details (I'll update more over the next few days):

  • Tub: Maax PLREA 60x32 air tub - this is a deep tub which is what we wanted as my wife is Japanese and we love having a deep soak

  • *Wall Surround: Maax Acrylic 59" Finesse tub surround - one day we'd like to use the same quartz as on our vanity for the tub surround but we didn't have the budget for it this time

  • *Tub faucet: Grohtherm 2000 New - reminds us of the tub fillers in Japan with a dial on one side to set the temperature (you have to push a button to go past 38 degrees C, a safety feature) and on the other side volume control and diverter; the shower hose is connected to the faucet bottom so plumbing is very simple and it has a waterfall faucet which should look cool when it is filling the tub

  • *Shower Head and Bar: Grohe Rainshower Cosmopolitan, 24" bar

  • *Curtain Rod: Moen curved adjustable hardware mount

  • *Vanity: Custom built by me out of cherry to the design we wanted - about $500 worth of materials and a heck of a lot of my time in the garage workshop! It has soft close full extension drawers, soft close door hinges and a tipout drawer in front of the sink for nailbrush, etc. - more on why I built my own instead of getting one built locally or ordering one

  • *Vanity tap: Grohe Parkfield centerset in Chrome

  • *Vanity top: Ceasarstone Quartz "Bianco Drift"

  • *Sink: Kasu KASU - CX undermount sink

  • *Mirror: Gatco Bridgeway Rectangular Mirror in Chrome

  • Sconces: Feiss Claridge One Light Chrome White Opal Glass Bathroom Sconce x 2

  • *Tile: I'll have to check at home - Royal something-or-other

  • Accessories: Moen Vale in Chrome

  • Side cabinet with toothbrush charging shelf: to be built out of the leftover cherry by me

* still needs to be installed along with drywall patching, priming and painting - hope to be done in another week or so
