Need help deciding on exterior door with sidelights

Had our house recently resided (with an off white color and white shutters ) and now want to replace the door and sidelights. Our carpenter suggested picking something prehung. Any suggestions as far as wood vs other types, color, style, brand, where to shop, would be greatly appreciated. We are in the Chicago area. Thanks!
